Reflect, seek advice and plan your estate.

Three steps to passing on values and assets while preserving family peace.

Have you provided for your loved ones and settled your final affairs? How would you like to be remembered? Start today, regardless of your age and life situation. Leave nothing to chance and reconsider existing arrangements.

First step: reflect.

Who or what do you want to support? Which loved ones do you want to provide for? What family conflicts do you want to avoid? What is important to you and your heirs? What values do you stand for? What is the composition of your assets? What happens if you die unexpectedly? Have you made provisions for this situation? Do you have contingency plans in place?

Second step: inquire.

Seek advice. What provision does the law provide if you remain inactive?  It’s not just about transferring assets, writing a will. There is much more to think about …  Among other things, your own provisions, the welfare of your family, possibly other persons or the support of charitable institutions. It may be necessary to carry out legal transactions during your lifetime. Above all, avoid mistakes and disputes.

Third step: estate planning.

This is time-consuming. Start early enough. When should an asset transfer take place? What all must be done? Are your arrangements still up to date? Is there a need for action? Who should enforce your last will and testament?
